Q&A
Can you briefly introduce yourself and your role at Atlas Antibodies?
My name is Laura Pozzi, and I am Scientific Content Manager at Atlas Antibodies. I joined the company six years ago as a Scientific Writer after completing a PhD in neuroscience in Milan and postdoctoral research at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. Today, I develop scientific content and marketing collateral that help communicate the value of our products and support researchers in finding the right tools for their work.
What part of your work do you find especially interesting or important?
What I find most interesting is translating complex scientific information into clear, meaningful content that researchers can use. Atlas Antibodies offers products backed by extensive validation data, and helping communicate that evidence in an accessible way is both challenging and rewarding. Whether developing product content, educational resources or scientific campaigns, my goal is to help researchers understand how our antibodies can support their experiments and discoveries.
What skills or mindset are important in your role?
A scientific background is essential because it allows me to understand the research behind our products and communicate it accurately. Equally important are curiosity, attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture. Collaboration is also central. I work with scientists, product managers, sales and commercial colleagues, so listening, asking questions and translating expertise into accessible content are key parts of the role.
Why Atlas Antibodies?
I came to Atlas Antibodies from Karolinska Institutet, drawn by its strong scientific foundation and its connection to the Human Protein Atlas. Coming from academia, I was excited by the chance to stay close to cutting-edge science while working in a different environment. What has made me stay is the combination of scientific excellence, meaningful work and a supportive culture.
Why does your work matter to you personally?
Having spent many years as a researcher, I understand how important reliable antibodies are for scientific progress. I know how much time, effort and resources go into research projects and how crucial it is to trust the tools being used. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is knowing that the content I create helps researchers make informed decisions.
What do you appreciate about the people you work with?
What stands out most is the willingness of people to share their expertise and help one another. Atlas Antibodies brings together colleagues with diverse backgrounds and deep scientific knowledge, yet there is a strong sense of collaboration throughout the company. People are approachable, supportive and genuinely interested in solving problems together.
Looking ahead, what are you excited about?
As Atlas Antibodies celebrates its 20-year anniversary, I am excited to see how the company continues to evolve alongside advances in life science research. New technologies are generating enormous amounts of biological data, creating opportunities for deeper understanding of proteins and disease mechanisms. From a communication perspective, I look forward to finding new ways to make scientific information more accessible and useful for researchers.
Just for fun: what object matches your work style?
I would choose a microscope. Not because I spend my days using one, but because it represents curiosity and the importance of looking closely before drawing conclusions. A microscope reveals details that are not immediately visible, and I approach scientific communication in a similar way: understanding the evidence, exploring the details and then helping others see the bigger picture.
“Even though I am no longer working at the laboratory bench, I still feel connected to the scientific community and its mission to better understand biology and human disease.”
